HAKARAS HATOV We would like to express our Hakaras HaTov to the Ahavas Yisroel community for all the chesed that was done for our family while we were sitting Shiv’ah (for our father Rabbi Dr. Chaim Yoel Laks). The outpouring of chesed by providing us with delicious home-cooked meals on a regular basis was truly outstanding. The Siyum Mishnayos will be held be”H on Shabbos Parshas T’tzaveh, which is the end of Sh’loshim, on Moshav Matisyahu in Israel. David will go to Israel for the siyum and asks those who are learning mishnayos to complete their mesechctos by next Shabbos.

at the home of R’ Moshe & Tammy Bilitzky (144-46 72nd Drive) to commemorate the first Yahrzeit of Rabbi Hershel Solnica z”l, who himself used to speak for the Women's League. RABBI HILLEL LOVE, son of Mrs. Sally Solnica, will be the magid shiur.
Community Sh’loshim Tribute
MONDAY FEBRUARY 7, at the Young Israel of Queens Valley (141-55 77th Ave.): A Community Sh’loshim will be held for Rabbi Dr. Chaim Yoel Laks, Rav for over 50 years at the Jewish Center Torath Emeth (the first Orthodox shul in Kew Gardens Hills), a founder of the Vaad HaRabanim of Queens, Jewish Chaplain at Booth Memorial Hospital for over 25 years.
Teen Minyan next Shabbos
Ahavas Yisroel’s next teen minyan is scheduled for February 12, Parshas T’tzaveh. Anyone interested in volunteering to lein, lead the davening, or give a d’var Torah should contact Dr. Rich Gewanter at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone (718-969-6819). Cong. Ahavas Yisroel invites – and encourages – all teenage and pre-teen boys to participate. Davening will begin at 9:15 am downstairs in the social hall, followed by a Kiddush.
