CLOTHING DRIVE FOR ISRAEL

Women’s League of Cong. Ahavas Yisroel will again be collecting used clothing to ship to Israel. The shipment will go to Kiryat Sefer and the distribution will be overseen by Bracha (Pearl) Silberstein.
Date: Tuesday, November 7, 2006
Time: 7:00-10:00 p.m.
Place: Congregation Ahavas Yisroel,
corner 73rd Avenue & 147th Street
The shipping is done in egg boxes and the cost is approximately $18/box.
1. Clothing for infants & toddlers
2. Shabbos and everyday clothing (in very good condition) for children 5-12
Boys: Long pants / shorts - dark colors
Polo shirts with buttons
Shirts - white / plaids / stripes
Girls: Dresses, skirts and jumpers
Blouses with appropriate sleeves
3. Shabbos clothing for teens
Donations towards shipping costs would be greatly appreciated.

Sunday Morning Learning Program

R' Yakov Haber will be giving his weekly shiur at 8:45 AM

R' Yechezkel Rosenberg will be leading the Chavrusa program at 9:30 AM.

On Monday October 30 at 7:30 - The Jewish Board of family Services will sponsor a program in the Shul. The topic will be: "Motivating Our Children: Understanding Their Individual Learning Styles. The lecturers will be Dr. David Pelcovitz and Dr. Marsha Winokur.

On Tuesday October 31 at 8:30 - Rabbi Welcher will be giving a Shiur on Mitzvah of Kiddush: Hashkafa, Halacha & Lomdus from Sefer Minchas Chinuch.


On Wednesday November 1 at 8:30 there will be a Worldwide Video presentation for women on the Yarzheit of Rachel Imeinu. The topic will be: "The Power of Our Compassion: How Can We Make a Difference". The speakers will be Rebbetzin Tehila Jaeger and Rebbetzin Tziporah Heller.

The OU will hold a Communal Symposium "When Illness Strikes" on November 4 at The Y.I. of Hillcrest from 8-10PM featuring a panel discussion with the following panelists:

Rabbi & Rebbetzin Welcher invite all of the Mispallelim and their relatives and guests to their Annual Shemini Atzeres Kiddush on Shabbos October 14 after davening. The kiddush will take place in the Welcher’s sukkah at
136-07 72nd Ave.

The very distinguished members that will be honored as chassanim will be announced on the first day of Yom Tov.

The Sukkah Hop will take place on Shabbos (1st day of Sukkos). The children will leave the shul at 3:30 and return at 5:00. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
