The JCLL(Little League) Trophy Dinner will take place on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at KGS at 4pm. $5 per player / $10 per adult (kids will get priority seating). RSVP to David Kirschner at djkirschner@verizon.net or (718) 619-3637if your son will be attending and whether either or both parents wish to attend no later than Wednesday, December 27th. KGS is located at 8217 Lefferts Blvd Jamaica, NY 11415. The guest speaker will be Ron Darling, starting pitcher for the World Champion 1986 New York Mets. Darling will hold an autograph session so boys should bring anything they want signed with them. There will also be additional entertainment. All players will receive trophies with a special award presentation to the champions of each division.

Also, registration for the spring little league will begin in a few weeks. If your son is interested in playing, please notify David Kirschner this week. David will be scheduling shul registration first. Please note that even if your son played last year, you must notify David of his intention to play this year. Do not assume that a spot will be automatically reserved. Once shul registration has been completed, the remaining spots will be made available to non-members. Details will be forthcoming. Teams are organized based on age/grade as follows:

Prep Division - 3rd & 4th grades

Intermediate Division - 5th & 6th grades

Junior Division – 7th & 8th grades

Senior Division – 9th & 10th grades

Please be aware that AY will assemble a team in each division only if there is sufficient interest AND volunteers to coach. Traditionally, there has not been sufficient interest to field a team in the senior division. The JCLL will only have a senior division if there are at least four teams AND each team commits to playing every week during the season. In the event there is overwhelming interest in any of the other divisions, we will attempt to field two teams in that division. The JCLL does not have a T-ball league, but Young Israel (QV, KGH, Hillcrest & Jamaica Estates) does. If there is sufficient interest, we will consider fielding a T-ball team as well. However, that registration process will not begin until March.
