Women's Shiur this Thursday, August 2, 2007

There will be a Shiur for women this Thursday, August 2, at 8:00 p.m. in the Shul, given by Rebbetzin Yehudis Samet. The topic will be, “Verbal Whammies (Ona'as Devarim) and How to Avoid Them.”

The Shiur is being sponsored in the Z'chus of a Refuah Sh’leimah for Eta Sara bas Devorah (Mrs. Etty Blum), Aliza Rochel Bas Liba Yenta and Refoel Zev Ben Miriam.

Rally on Monday, July 16, for Goldwasser, Shalit & Regev

Tomorrow - Monday, July 16th, the American Zionist Movement will be holding a rally in support of Ehud Goldwasser, Gilad Shalit and Eldad Regev. The rally will take place at 12 noon, rain or shine, at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza which is located at 1st Avenue and 47th Street.

Yamim Nora'im Seating

With the approach of the Yamim Nora’im, the time to reserve Shul seats has arrived.

We are offering a 10% discount for early reservations. To be eligible for the 10% discount, seat reservations must be received by, Monday, August 20, 2007 with a check. After that date, the committee will have the right to sell seats on a first-come-first-served basis to other members. After Thursday, August 31, 2007, we will open the sale of seats to non-members.
Women wishing to order seats after August 31, 2007 should call Ellen Cohen at

The following is this year’s price structure for the seats in our Shul, which has not changed from last year:

Member Family* - $300 per family (3 or more seats)
Single Member and Member Couple - $120 per seat
Married Children, Grandchildren of Members - $ 80 per seat
Guest of Member - $120 per seat
Non-Member - $180 per seat

*Children of members, eight years of age and older, will be assigned seats.

Shul policy states that seats in the front row of the Women’s section, along the Mechitzah, will be assigned to members and their children over the age of Bas Mitzvah.

Please note that those davening with us will be accommodated to the best of our ability; it may be necessary to move a member’s seat.

Reservation and Seat Selection forms have mailed to all memebers. It is imperative that the form be completely filled out. If a child's birth date is not included, that child will not receive a seat.

Payment of old obligations should be made before requesting seats.
