9th and 10th grade girls’ classes need maternity replacement teachers immediately until the end of the year. The hours are Monday –Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon, and on Friday until 10:15 a.m.

The 9th grade position encompasses the subjects of Chumash, Parashat Hashavuah, and Ivrit, taught to two sections, alternating with the co-teacher of the 9th grade, who teaches the other subjects.

The 10th grade position encompasses Chumash, Halacha, Hashkafah, Parashat Hashavuah, and Navi. From 9:30-10:3 on Monday-Thursday, the students have math and so during that time the teacher would be given other students in small groups or individually who need additional support.

If you know someone who is interested, please direct her my way immediately. Please pass on this notice to anyone who might know someone. I would consider a returning seminary student who is in school and available in the mornings. Someone who has experience would obviously be desirable.

Thanks for any assistance that you can give.

Welcome to our newest members Menachem & Aviva Wachsman.

We are delighted that Simcha and Adina Shapiro have humbly and graciously agreed to be Congregation Ahavas Yisroel’s Guests of Honor at our 20th Annual Journal Dinner. The dinner will take place, IY”H, this year on Tuesday evening, May 1, 2007, at the Young Israel of Forest Hills. While the journal dinner campaign is our most significant fundraiser of the year, it is also an opportunity to publicly express our Hakaras HaTov to that family who has tirelessly worked to fulfill the needs of our Kehilla. Clearly, Simcha and Adina are more than well deserving of that honor. Invitation will be arriving shortly. Please respond as soon as possible.
