7:00 pm: Nishmat HaTzafon, a Jewish women’s performing arts company, will be performing “Haster Astir Panai: A Heroine’s Masquerade,” at Congregation Etz Chaim (147-19 73rd Avenue). This performance, which is exclusively for women, will explore the common journey of Jewish heroines Esther and Tamar, and the ways in which they brought about salvation by means of masquerade. It will include dancing, singing, and dramatic reading for women of all ages. Tickets are $18.00, $15.00 for students and seniors. Family discounts will be available at the door.

Matzah Orders:
Once again, Matzahs will be baked under the supervision of the Rav. If you plan on purchasing your Matzah from the Shul please submit your order, along with either cash or a check (made payable to Cong. Ahavas Yisroel), by Tuesday March 25th at 2 pm. Members will receive the order forms in the mail within the next few days.

R’ Doniel Steinberg to be honored by Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim:

R’ Doniel Steinberg, who serves as our Baal Shacharis on the Yamim Nora’im, will be the guest of honor at Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim’s annual journal dinner. R’ Steinberg leads our tefillos as a chesed for the Shul. We will, therefore, be placing a group ad in the dinner journal expressing our Hakaras HaTov to him. Every Tuesday, 8:30 - 9:30 pm: The Rav’s weekly Halachah Shiur entitled "Halachos of Purim."
Every Wednesday, 9:45 - 10:15 pm:Chaburah on Chumash with Ramban led by R’ Mark Kutner.
Every Other Thursday, 9:45 - 10:15 pm: Chaburah on Torah and Medicine (next on March 20).

Please join us for 30 minutes one day a week before or after Maariv. As the Rav has mentioned, everybody’s participation makes a big difference and is strongly encouraged.


Women’s League:

Shabbas Zachor, Parshas VaYikrah (March 15):

5:00 pm: There will be a shiur for women given by Leonie Hardy entitled, “Amalek, Korbanos, and Leap Years.” The shiur will take place at the home at Zvi and Batya Fishman, 147-19 72nd Drive, l’zeicher nishmas Batya’s mother, Leah bas Avigdor HaKohen.

Every Tuesday:
9:30 pm: Women’s League’s weekly Tehillim Group. Please join as the Women’s League is always searching for volunteers to participate.

R’ Doniel Steinberg to be honored by Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim:
R’ Doniel Steinberg, who serves as our Baal Shacharis on the Yamim Nora’im, will be the guest of honor at Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim’s annual journal dinner. R’ Steinberg leads our tefillos as a chesed for the Shul. We will, therefore, be placing a group ad in the dinner journal expressing our Hakaras HaTov to him. Tuesday, March 18:

8:00 pm: Rabbi Jonathan Rietti will give a Shiur entitled “Simchas HaChayim…Catch me if you can!” to Men and Women. The program will begin promptly at 8:15PM at Young Israel of Queens Valley, 141-55 77th Avenue, Kew Gardens Hills, NY. There is no charge for this shiur. 9:10 am: The Kew Gardens Hills “AMEN” group for women will meet at the home of Dovid and Ilana Goldschein, 72-10 137th Street. The group is looking for more participants. A commitment to attend every week is not required. Those who attend the Shira Smiles’ shiur at 10:00 am may participate in the group and leave early.
