The JBFCS, in partnership with Chai Lifeline, and in collaboration with the Young Israel, the Queens Vaad, and the QJCC, present “Consolation and Compassion – Shiv’ah Visits and Beyond.” The featured speaker will be Dr. Norman Blumenthal, Director of Chai Lifeline’s Project CHAI, who will discuss fulfilling Nachamu nachamu ami and assisting others in healing during times of sorrow. The JBFCS, in partnership with Chai Lifeline and in collaboration with the Young Israel of KGH, the Queens Vaad, and the QJCC, will hold this Evening of Achdus. Speakers will include Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld (Rav, YIKGH: t’hilim and introduction), Rabbi Dr. Richard Weiss (Rav, Young Israel of Hillcrest), Dr. Norman Blumenthal (Director, Chai Lifeline’s Project CHAI), Debbie Fox, LCSW (Director, Aleinu Family Resource Center), Rabbi Aryeh Sokoloff (Rav, Kew Gardens Synagogue Adas Yeshurun). They will be addressing the recent tragedy and discuss child safety awareness as well as provide divrei chizuk.

Sunday, July 17, Chaim Dov Wahrman will be riding his bike from Queens to Monsey and back in association with Acheinu Day Camp to raise money for the Zichron Shlomo R'fuah fund. This organization helps children with cancer cope with their illness. Anyone wishing to donate to the cause should contact him. We wish you the best Chaim Dov!

Tuesday, July 19, (the 17th of Tamuz) at 6:40 pm there will be a showing of a holocaust related film: Pikuach Nefesh, the 3rd in a Series, presents the dramatic and neglected stories of two of KlalYisroel’s great heroes, Rav Michoel Ber Weissmandl of Nitra and Rav Shlomo Schonfeld of the Kindertransport.
